May 26, 2022 – Ottawa, ON: Today, the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) testified in front of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance as part of the committee’s study C-19, the 2022 Budget Implementation Act.

CDA applauded the federal government’s proposed investment of $5.3 billion over the next five years towards increasing access to dental care for Canadians, but strongly urged the federal government to work with provinces and territories to strengthen existing dental care programs.

As part of its scope of work, CDA uses its national voice to raise issues and concerns facing the dental profession. CDA has long advocated for access to dental care, and we know that oral health is an essential component of overall health. That is why we support efforts by all levels of government to improve the oral health of Canadians.
