Dr. Jack Cottrell of Port Perry, Ontario is the New President of the Canadian Dental Association

April 18, 2005 — Ottawa — The Canadian Dental Association (CDA) announces the installation of Dr. Jack Cottrell, as its new president. The official announcement was made during CDA's General Assembly, held April 15, 2005 in Ottawa.

Dr. Cottrell is a past president of the Ontario Dental Association and of the Durham-Ontario Dental Society. He has served on many CDA committees including chair of the Communications and Membership Committee, the Dental Benefits Committee, the Audit Committee and the Review Task Force Committee.

Over the years, Dr. Cottrell has been active within his community including Ward Councillor — Scugog Municipal Council, 1982-1985. He is currently a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Durham-Ontario Dental Society, the American Equilibration Society, the World Dental Federation (FDI), and the Academy of General Dentistry. In addition, he is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Academy of Dentistry International.

Dr. Cottrell graduated from University of Toronto 1975. He maintains a private practice in Port Perry where he lives with his wife Michelle.
