The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer. The applicant must hold a DMD/DDS degree and preferably have experience in clinical undergraduate teaching in digital dentistry. Preference will be given to applicants with additional post-graduate academic training in prosthodontics, operative, or restorative dentistry. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with faculty members within the Division of General Dentistry to participate in the undergraduate and graduate teaching in the areas of digital dentistry including intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM restoration fabrication, and printing of casts and dental prostheses. The candidate will help to establish a strong evidence- based pre-clinical and clinical curriculum in digital dentistry to support didactic and clinical skills needed for general dental practice. Additional teaching responsibilities include the following: Instruct in classrooms, simulation and seminars. That would include planning and presenting lectures, guiding students in simulation exercises, running seminar programing, Supervise and facilitate clinical activities involving all aspects of digital dentistry for undergraduate and graduate students. This will also involve working with dental laboratory support internally and externally to the Faculty of Dentistry, Oversee and evaluate student pre-clinical & clinical activities, Develop pre-clinical and clinical online manuals and guidelines to assist in calibration among faculty members, instructors, graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the academic life and teach/supervise learners in the Faculty of Dentistry. She/he should be an innovative teacher who will integrate digital technologies and new approaches to learning into the curriculum. The successful individual should possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work ef fectively and contribute within team environment, and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Preference will be given to an individual with current and active experience in instructing, lecturing, coaching and mentoring students and instructors in pre-clinical setting and those that operate from a solid understanding of patient care and evidence-based dentistry. Applicants must be licensed (or eligible) with the British Columbia College of Oral Health professionals. Salary is subject to standards within the Faculty of Dentistry based on teaching and oversight.
