Dr. Richard Holden of Charlottetown, PEI New CDA President WhenDr. RichardHolden talkswithhis threegrown children about how to navigate life, he often uses the metaphor of a fork in the road. “The decision you make at one fork in the road leads you to the next one,” he says. “My life has felt like a series of these and there isn’t a right choice or a wrong one, it’s just the direction that you choose to go.” D uring his childhood, Richard lived in Sherwood, PEI, a suburb of Charlottetown. He remembers his first visit, at age 12, to Dr. William Allen, a young dentist who had set up a small clinic in the basement of his home. “I thought, this could be a cool job,” he says. “But take that with a grain of salt because my other idea of a cool job at the time was a brick layer!” 9 Issue 3 | 2021 |
