I imagine that everyone who attended saw Saskatchewan in a new light.” The conference had 1,023 registered delegates, including 463 dentists. There were 68 tradeshow booths and more than 200 company representatives. “We had an amazing line up of speakers that provided something for everyone on the dental team,” says Korte. “We had international speakers, like Drs. John Svirsky and Bob Margeas, conference favourites including Dr. Uche Odiatu and Jo-Anne Jones, and local speakers such as Drs. Kabir Virdi, Alysen Phee and Dan Avram.” The keynote address was given by Jon Montgomery, Olympic gold medalist in skeleton and host of television show The Amazing Race Canada . Other highlights included the 2019 CDA Special Friend of Canadian Dentistry Award being presented to Dr. Mark Donaldson, a dental pharmacology and dental therapeutics leader and frequent contributor to CDA Oasis, and a special luncheon held to celebrate the work of Dr. Jack Cottrell, CDA past-president 2005–06.
