The broad goals of the project are to:  Increase global awareness of periodontal health  Provide tools and resources to help reduce the disease burden and raise the priority of periodontal health at the national level  Integrate oral/periodontal health into policies addressing general health and non-communicable diseases by taking a common risk factor approach. NewOnline Resources FDI has produced several resources for clinicians as part of this GPHP initiative. The latest is an Online Risk Assessment tool to help gauge a patient’s risk for periodontal disease and categorize their risk profile as low, medium or high. The online tool is a simplified version of the full Periodontal Disease Chairside Guide , also available on the FDI website. The online assessment tool looks at the following risk factors: tooth loss (due to periodontal diseases), bleeding on probing, probing depth, diabetes, smoking, bone loss and heavy plaque deposits. The GPHP encourages dentists to access these tools and is currently seeking feedback from practitioners on the usefulness of these resources. “We want to understand how useful the guide is and get feedback on how we can improve it in the future.” To provide your feedback, visit the Global Periodontal Health Project section of the FDI website at fdiworlddental.org a Periodontal Disease CHAIRSIDEGUIDE
