15 Issue 2 | 2019 | Developed by McGill University’s faculty of dentistry and other partners, including the University of Montreal and the Public Health Agency of Canada, this website includes a job matching component and free training modules in English and French. The website has three primary objectives:  To attract and retain oral health professionals to work in remote and isolated areas in Northern Canada;  To help Northern communities connect with oral health providers who would be interested in working in their area;  To offer training to oral health professionals to better prepare them to work in remote communities. After creating a profile, dentists and clinics have access to a work opportunity platform where they can post, consult and apply to oral health positions directly through the site. There is also a learning path available, composed of three online modules — cultural competency, trauma-informed care, and the application of these two concepts in Indigenous settings. By understanding Indigenous cultures, history and traditional healing practices, health professionals can provide optimal care to these communities. Ultimately, this website addresses the issue of Northern communities’ access to dental care by creating more connections between these populations and oral health providers. a CanadianDental Connection New website connects dentists to remote communities TheCanadianDental Connectionwebsite is a new tool to keep oral health providers andNorthernCanadian communities connected.
