I ssues and P eople Q: What parallels can be drawn between what’s happening in American dental schools and our Canadian schools? RV: The Canadian dental schools are all members of ADEA and they also belong to the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (ACFD). We’ve been working closely with the deans of the Canadian schools and the ADEA senior survey that we’re discussing here will be piloted for the first time with Canadian schools for the 2018–19 school year. Fourth-year Canadian dental students will be completing the same questions. We’ve had to modify the language and vernacular of the survey to reflect Canadian differences, but now we’ll be able to have data comparing the 10 Canadian dental schools as well as between Canadian dental schools and American dental schools. Our engagement with Canada has increased in the past few years and ADEA’s Fall Meetings were held in Toronto from October 24–26, 2018, hosted in part by the University of Toronto faculty of dentistry. We’re looking forward to having further opportunities to expand our relationships with our Canadian colleagues. a We’ve been working closely with the deans of the Canadian dental schools and the ADEA senior survey that we’re discussing here will be piloted for the first time with Canadian schools for the 2018-19 school year.
