23 Issue 5 | 2018 | N ews and E vents Cy Elborne, president of HSC, presented the cheque to Sofia Janmohamed of CCS, at the HSC national sales meeting in Vancouver. “Each of us has lost a loved one or colleague to this terrible disease, and it is a privilege to make this donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in their honour,” says Mr. Elborne. “We are very thankful for the generous support of Henry Schein Canada,” says Carly Schur, national director of corporate programs for the CCS. “Due to our aging and growing population, the number of cancer cases in Canada is expected to rise dramatically by 2030.” HSC also recently launched its We Care Global Challenge , an initiative with a goal of assembling 10,000 hygiene kits with essential health care and hygiene supplies for people living in underserved, at-risk and remote communities. Kits assembled by HSC will be distributed by Save the Children Canada to residents of Island Lake, Manitoba, a group of communities that have recently been evacuated following a series of emergencies, including wildfires and power outages. a Henry Schein Canada MAKES DONATION TO CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY Henry Schein Canada (HSC) donated $20,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) in March, in support of its efforts to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with the disease.
