29 Issue 3 | 2018 | N ews and E vents The first woman to serve as dean of the faculty at McGill, Dr. Emami is a dentist with professional training in prosthodontic rehabilitation (MSc, University of Montreal), biomedical sciences (PhD, joint program, University of Montreal and McGill University), and postdoctoral training in dental public health (McGill University) and cancer epidemiology (University of Montreal Hospital Centre). An eminent clinician scientist in Canadian oral health research, Dr. Emami is currently a professor at the University of Montreal in the department of restorative dentistry, faculty of dentistry, and in the department of social and preventive medicine, school of public health. She is also the director of the University of Montreal Oral Health and Rehabilitation Research Unit, principal investigator in public health research for the Quebec Network for Oral and Bone Health Research, and councillor-at-large for the Canadian Association of Dental Research (CADR) and the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) e-Oral Health Network.
