Your dental office will stand out among the crowd as one that truly cares about its community and actively demonstrates this by providing care to those most in need. • It strengthens community connections The events that we’ve hosted have attracted other members of the profession to volunteer with us; be it dentists, hygienists or assistants. It opens doors to working with new people and groups. Many of our business partners also pitch in by donating dental supplies. Our neighbouring businesses have also donated food and drinks for those waiting in line for their care. How to organize a free dentistry day at your office The following steps outline the basic framework for running a successful free dentistry day at your clinic.  When choosing the date for your event, keep in mind that people may need to line up outside your office waiting for their turn. If your office is accessed at street level, it’s preferable to choose a warmer time of year for the event. It also helps to have the day on a weekend, as it may be easier for more potential patients to attend on a weekend.  To get your team excited about the day, share your vision with them of helping those in need and doing something that gives back to the community. Explain the benefits of volunteering to help get them motivated to donate their time.  On the day of your event, you will need a few more volunteers at your clinic to act as runners to help patients fill in medical history forms and to help with charting. Reach out to the family or friends of your team members. You could also reach out to other dental professionals in your community to join in.  Engage community partners to help publicize the event. Think of contacting your local food bank, community centres or places of worship to let them know about your event and possibly advertise with posters or flyers.  Contact your dental suppliers and sales representatives to see if they are willing to donate ❶ ❸ ❷
