He highlighted CDA’s initiatives to support dentists and improve the oral health of Canadians, through shaping public policies, keeping dentists informed about relevant information and news, and providing services that meet the needs of practising dentists. “We do this work not just for ourselves, but to ensure the future of dentistry remains bright and the oral health of Canadians isn’t compromised,” said Dr. Levin. “It is encouraging to engage with so many committed women and men who are as passionate about improving the oral health of Canadians as we are at CDA.” The team behind CDA Oasis Discussions (oasisdiscussions.ca ) ran two seminars at the CDSC where students were invited to participate in discussions that were recorded as part of The Grind , a podcast by Canadian dental students. Dr. Nathaniel Wong gave a seminar about his experiences in rural practice and outlined the personal, professional and financial reasons for leaving the city behind. The Federation of Canadian Dentistry Student Associations (FCDSA) is a student-run group that represents dentistry student associations at the 10 accredited Canadian dental schools. FCDSAworks to enhance the dental student experience and serves as the voice of over 2,000 students nationwide. For its student members, involvement in FCDSA opens the door tomaking positive contributions to the dental profession throughout their careers.
