In 1994, the CDA approved the establishment of a national registry of dentists who have completed an accredited hospital dental internship or general practice residency in dentistry.
If you have successfully completed such a program in Canada, you are eligible to be listed in the registry and receive a certificate of recognition issued by the Canadian Dental Association. The certificate identifies you as a practitioner with advanced education and experience in inpatient settings.
Application Process
To qualify for inclusion in the registry, you must be a graduate of an internship or general practice residency program in Canada which has been accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).
Confirmation of your graduation from the dental internship program listed on your application form will be sought before you get listed in the registry and the certificate is issued. Allow 8 to 10 weeks for processing, after which a Certificate of Recognition will be forwarded to you.
The fee for processing your application is $150.00 plus either GST or HST. Please see the applicable form for details. Fees are payable by cheque, VISA or MASTERCARD.
To receive your certificate, complete the Application for Certificate (PDF 265 KB), and forward to jdaoud@cda-adc.ca.
