Cover Artist: Dr. Catalena Birek
 The cover art for this issue is titled Summers Past. It's a watercolour painting by Dr. Catalena Birek, a professor at the University of Manitoba's faculty of dentistry in Winnipeg. “I felt compelled to share with my friends and colleagues the memory of that certain end-ofseason, last-glimpse-of-the-cottage, farewell-to-the-lake atmosphere that this painting attempts to capture. This was my first uneducated, unpractised and primitive attempt at aquarelle. One day, perhaps in retirement, I will give it another try.”JCDA thinks Dr. Birek caught the fin-de-saison mood perfectly in her first aquarelle.
