Cover Artist: Dr. Margaret Reade The cover art for the March JCDA is a lovely photo of natural egg sculptures by Dr. Margaret Reade of Trenton, Ontario. Dr. Reade received her DDS from the University of Western Ontario in London in 1978. She first went into the Canadian Forces Dental Service and then into private practice in 1986.The eggs that Dr. Reade sculpts range from the huge ostrich egg to the tiny finch egg — only 11 mm long! For conservation measures, all eggs used in her art are purchased from local breeders and not taken from the wild. The eggs are carved using a high-speed dental drill. Dr. Reade is a member of the International Egg Art Guild and displays her work at egg art shows across North America. Her eggs are also on display at 2 art galleries.
