An Update on Analgesics for the Management of Acute Postoperative Dental Pain FULL TEXT • Daniel A. Haas, BSc, DDS, BScD, PhD, FRCD(C) • A b s t r a c t Acetaminophen, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioids are available as analgesics in dentistry. They each have specific advantages, disadvantages, indications and contraindications. This article provides a brief review of their role in the management of acute postoperative pain.
