Cover Artist: Dr. Douglas J. BrothwellDr. Douglas J. Brothwell received his DMD in 1984 from the University of Saskatchewan and an MSc in 1999 from the University of Toronto. He is currently head of community dentistry at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Brothwell has been a member of CDA's Consumer Product Recognition Committee since 1998.The cover photo shows 3 of the 6 jewelry boxes Dr. Brothwell crafted as gifts for Christmas 2001. The middle box, constructed of 30 separate pieces from 6 types of wood, now adorns his wife's nightstand. As with all his projects, no nails or screws were used in fabricating these boxes that feature only old-fashioned glue and joinery construction.
