Cover Artist: Dr. Milena R. Simicic
Dr. Milena R. Simicic of Vaudreuil (Quebec) drew inspiration for the cover painting from a photograph of some hyacinths basking in the sun. The oil on canvas is titled Winter Scent. Says Dr. Simicic: “I love to garden, but our warm season is so short that I make sure I have blooms in the winter by forcing bulbs of all kinds.”Dr. Simicic, a 1982 graduate of the University of Montreal's faculty of dentistry, started painting on a regular basis about 5 years ago. She works mostly in oil and does the odd pastel.
