A leader from the start

oon after she graduated as a dental assistant from
the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology, Betty Daniels
moved back to New Brunswick, her home province.
While at that time the Canadian Dental Assistants
Association (CDAA)offeredanational certification, there
was noprovincial licensure inNewBrunswick. SoBettygot involved
with the provincial dental assistants association to help change
things—and they did. Level-2 dental assisting is now a recognized
certification in theprovince.
